Inquiry and Application for 2021-2022 School Year

We kindly request that families interested in enrolling in the Lower School complete an inquiry here. If you are interested in an in-person campus tour, you may also indicate that on the form.

Our main admission entry point is TK and we expect approximately 20 openings.  Applications for kindergarten – 8th grade are fully considered, but admission is based on space availability due to student attrition.

LOWER SCHOOL APPLICATION PROCESS (GRADES TK-8)

Alverno Heights Academy is now accepting applications for TK – 8th grade girls and boys applying for the 2021-2022 school year!  If you have any questions as you move through the application process, please contact Ms. Kate Witherington, Director of Enrollment Management, at kwitherington@alvernoheights.org.

Note: Students applying for Transitional Kindergarten must be four years of age by September 1. Students applying for Kindergarten must be five years of age by September 1.

Complete a 2021-2022 Lower School Application

STEP 1: COMPLETE THE APPLICATION BY FEBRUARY 1, 2021

To begin the online application process, create a SchoolAdmin account and begin the application.  You will have the flexibility to log in and out of your account to access and complete your application and checklist.  All application materials must be submitted online by February 1, 2021 with a non-refundable $95 APPLICATION FEEWe require a separate application and fee per child.  Applications will be accepted after this deadline on a space-available basis.

The Alverno Application is broken up into the following sections: Application Form, Application Fee, TK/K Recommendation Form (applicable to incoming TK, K and 1st grade students), Transcripts/Report Cards (applicable to incoming 2nd – 8th grade students), Student Photo, Additional Documents (like birth certificate and any sacraments received, if applicable) and an Interview.  

STEP 2: TK/K RECOMMENDATION FORM (FOR TK, K AND First GRADE APPLICANTS)

Alverno requires that incoming TK and K applicants submit the TK/K Recommendation Form to their current/previous school or daycare.  First grade applicants can either submit the TK/K Recommendation Form or upload a Kindergarten report card. 

The recommendation form must be received from the recommender through the SchoolAdmin system. You may access the recommendation request after completing the application and submitting your application fee.  On the checklist, you will be given a space to provide an email address for the instructor who will complete the recommendation and the form will be sent directly to him/her to complete.

Additional recommendations may be submitted from a student’s pastor, academic coach, or other mentor.

STEP 3: UPLOAD TRANSCRIPTS OR REPORT CARDS

Alverno asks for school reports from the previous academic year and first semester/trimester of the application year.  We will accept either transcripts (they can be unofficial) or report cards for review.  Please upload legible copies in your SchoolAdmin portal. 

Additional recommendations may be submitted from a student’s pastor, academic coach, or other mentor.

STEP 4: INTERVIEW WITH A MEMBER OF ALVERNO’S ADMISSIONS TEAM

You will be instructed to email Ms. Linda Bass, Registrar, at lbass@alvernoheights.org to schedule your 30 minute parent/student interview with the Admissions Team. 

 STEP 5: UPLOAD A STUDENT PHOTO

This is only used for internal purposes to help our Admissions Team put a face to your child’s name. 

STEP 6: UPLOAD ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS 

Please upload a copy of your child’s State Certificate of Birth and Certificates of any Sacraments received, if applicable.

 NOTIFICATION DAY: FRIDAY, MARCH 5, 2021

Admissions notifications (all grades) are released on Friday, March 5, 2021 in conjunction with all Pasadena Area Independent Schools. 

WELCOME FAMILY BBQ: JUNE 2021

All newly enrolled families will be partnered with a mentor family and receive an invitation to the welcome Family BBQ in June where you will meet all of our teachers, staff and APTA board members.

New Family Registration for 2021-2022 School Year

ENROLLMENT DEADLINE: MARCH 15, 2021

This includes completion of the Enrollment Contract, submitting official transcripts and a $275 Family Registration Fee.  The next step will include setting up your FACTS Tuition account and submitting the $500 student fee per child. 

Returning Family Registration for the 2021-2022 School Year

ENROLLMENT DEADLINE: TBD

This includes completion of the Enrollment Contract and submitting a $275 Family Registration Fee. 

Uniforms for the Lower School

The lower school will have separate uniforms from the upper school. More info on uniforms will be available in Spring 2021.
