All items can be brought to the school office during school hours or can be dropped off at one of the following collection dates:
Thursday 12/3 – 2:30pm – 4pm, Tuesday 12/8 – 2:30pm – 5pm, Wednesday 12/9 – 3pm – 5pm, Friday 12/11 and Saturday 12/12 During our Christmas Drive Thru. Students will receive service hours for donating and can fill out a service hour google form that will be sent out in the eblast this week. The service hour break down is included in class break down. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Freshman Class: You will be collecting diapers (all sizes), pull ups, baby wipes, and for Baby 2 Baby in Culver City. Baby 2 Baby provides children living in poverty, ages 0-12 years, with diapers, clothing and all the basic necessities that every child deserves. For every package of diapers or pull ups you will receive 1 service hour – you can get up 3 service hours total. For every 5 packages of baby wipes you will receive 1 service hour and you can earn up to 3 service hours. Which means if you choose to max out and give 3 packages of diapers and 5 packages of baby wipes you will receive 5 service hours – which is half of your service hour expectation!
Sophomore Class: You will be collecting gift cards for teens and tweens at Alexandria House, an Immaculate Heart charity. Right now Alexandria House is preparing a Christmas celebration for their current and former families. On the Christmas wish list are gift cards for some of the children ages 12-17. So if you could donate at least one gift card with a $5 – $15 dollar value from any of the following: Target, In n Out, Starbucks, Chipotle, Utla, Sephora, or Amazon. For every gift card you will receive 1 service hour and you can earn up to 5 service hours for participating.
Junior Class:You will be collecting food items as well as other non perishable items MEND – Meet Each Need with Dignity in Pacoima. With dignity and respect, MEND’s mission is to meet immediate needs of individuals and families and increase their access to opportunities that strengthen their capacity to thrive. During the Covid 19 pandemic they have been able to continue to offer weekly food distribution to local families in need. For every 5 food items that you donate you will receive 1 service hour – you can earn up to 5 service hours total for this food drive.
Senior Class: You will be collecting bras, women’s underwear and sports bras for the Downtown Women’s Center in Los Angeles. Sometimes referred to as the “hidden homeless” women are often overlooked when it comes to shelters and assistance. The Downtown Women’s Center aims to help specifically women with education and job training as well as serving as a shelter for women. Donations are plentiful, but undergarments are rarely given and are most needed. Your donations will help with simple clothing items that we often take for granted of having. Sizes XS – XXL please. For every 2 bras you will receive 1 service hour – you can get up to 3 service hours with this kind of donation. For every package of underwear you will get 1 service hour and you can get up to 5 service hours for this.
