Another Record Setting Year for Alverno Alumna Olivia Rivas ’15

For a second consecutive year, Alverno alumna Olivia Rivas (2015) was named to the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Women’s Soccer All-Conference First Team. She was also named to the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Women’s Soccer All-Conference First Team and the A.I.I. Championship Tournament All-Tournament Team.

Additionally, on Friday, December 8 Rivas was named to the 2017 United Soccer Coaches NAIA Women’s All-Plain Region second team.

As a starting defender for the University of Jamestown Jimmies, Olivia helped her team to an undefeated record (4-0) in the NSAA conference, a second consecutive undefeated record at home (6-0), and a record-tying 13 regular season wins. This was the first time in the program’s history that Jamestown broke into the NAIA rankings.  22nd-ranked Jamestown lost to 20th-ranked Georgia Gwinnett College in the championship game of the A.I.I. Conference Championship Tournament and ended their season with a 14-5-1 overall record, setting a new program record for wins in a season and advanced to the A.I.I. championship game.

Congratulations Olivia! Alverno Heights Academy is so proud of you and we look forward to cheering you on next year!
